NineNorth Spotlight: History of the New Brighton Stockyards

Long Lake Regional Park was once home to the Minneapolis Stockyard Packing Company. The Stockyard industry was booming in 1888 and set along the banks of Long Lake. The legacy of the Stockyards lives on in New Brighton’s city celebration Stockyard Days which began in 1981.
