North Oaks Hill Farm Historical Society Spring Event on May 17, 2024. Guest speaker is author and historian Jim Stolpestad. Mr. Stolpestad is author of Great Northern Iron: James J. Hill’s 109-Year Mining Trust. This is a fascinating story about the Great Northern Iron Ore Properties Trust, the brainchild of James J. Hill and his son in response to the Federal Government’s trust-busting efforts personally directed by President Teddy Roosevelt. Two long-time residents of North Oaks played important roles in the creation and termination of the Trust. One in creation of the trust and one in the termination of the trust.
NineNorth is a nonprofit organization operated by the North Suburban Access Corporation. The nine commission members represent the cities of Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville and St. Anthony.
