Here are three things you might not know about Roseville. It turns out the story behind the Blooming Cities moniker is rooted in its early development. The city of Roseville is named after Isaac Rose, who arrived in Minnesota around 1846. A land surveyor in 1850, he participated in surveying the land that would become Rose Township. An early business in the area was the Richter Feed Mill. “It was a store that provided feed, agricultural supplies, and the like for the farmers in the area. In the early teens, the late 1800s or early teens, much of the Roseville area was truck farming.” says Judy Payne of the Roseville Historical Society. Another notable business that came to Roseville was Minnesota's first McDonald's Opening its doors in 1957. The Mcdonalds is on Snelling Ave. And is still in operation today.
