The iconic Mermaid Statue, which graced the entrance to the Mermaid Events Center since September 1966, is finally undergoing a much-needed restoration. After decades of standing watch over the center, she was unfortunately taken down in 2018. Now, the 'Mermaid of Mounds View' is embarking on a journey of rejuvenation at Mike's Commercial Painting, where she will spend the coming months undergoing repairs and a fresh coat of paint. The city of Mounds View eagerly anticipates her return and plans to display her prominently once again in the near future.
NineNorth is a nonprofit organization operated by the North Suburban Access Corporation. The nine commission members represent the cities of Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville and St. Anthony.
